Training and Handling Methods

We are ethical trainers and aim to primarily use techniques that don't involve pain or threatening behaviours towards the dogs. 

The owners must not use any tool such as e-collars, prong collars, choke chains, slips, and French collars unless approved by the trainer. 

If the owner is seen to be using any tools that have not been approved during the duration of the contract, the trainer reserves the right to cancel any future sessions without a refund. 

The trainer holds the right to report the clients to animal welfare if the trainer deems that the conditions are in breach of the Welfare of Animals Act (Northern Ireland) 2011

Sessions duration, scheduling, and attending 

When purchasing a basic training package (3 sessions) the client must redeem all 3 sessions within 3 months from the first session. No sessions can be redeemed after the expiration date and any unused sessions will be forfeited without refund.

When purchasing a behavioural package (4/5 sessions, reactivity or aggression) the client must redeem all sessions within 6 months from the first session. No sessions can be redeemed after the expiration date and any unused sessions will be forfeited without refund

The client holds the responsibility to contact the trainer to book another session unless the session has been agreed on in the previous session or the trainer stated otherwise. 

Payment, Refunds and Cancellations 

For all individual packages, group classes, and sessions all payments must be paid in full at least 48 hours before the session is due to start. If payment has not been made within the time, the trainer reserves the right to cancel the session without notifying the client. 

Under no circumstance is the client entitled to a refund. all refunds (or part thereof) will only be issued entirely at the trainer’s discretion.

The client is permitted to reschedule up to 3 times within the contract period as long as they give 48 hours notice before the session is due to start. 

The trainer holds the right to reschedule or cancel any sessions or group classes at any time. 

Safety and Liability 

The client has the right to feel safe and respected during the time spent with a trainer. The trainer must be professional and respectful at all times. 

Likewise, the trainer has the right to be treated with respect. any abusive or disrespectful behaviour during sessions will not be accepted. if the trainer feels unsafe he/she reserves the right to end sessions immediately and cancel any further sessions without refund and potentially report the client to the Police if it's deemed an appropriate action. 

This Way Dog Training holds no liability for the injury of the client or the client's dog during the session.

The owner is held liable for any actions of their dog during the session. 

Health and Vaccination 

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are accepting full responsibility for the protection of your dog from the risk of disease. 

The trainer will ensure that equipment will be kept clean and sanitised, however, due to the nature of the business cross-contamination between other dogs using the same toys and equipment is a high risk. 

As the owner you are deemed able to make your decisions regarding your dog's health and vaccination, and no proof of vaccinations will be asked for before or during the sessions. 

The owners must be aware that the organisation cannot guarantee that other dogs in class are fully vaccinated 

If clients suspect that their dog has contracted Kennel Cough (KC) or the dog is in heat (female dog) the dog can not attend the class.

If the trainer suspects the dog has KC or is in heat, the trainer reserves the right to ask the client to leave the premises and potentially ban the client from class permanently. 

Marketing/ Privacy  

The client has the right to their privacy at all times.

Anything discussed or seen during the session is confidential and the trainer has no right to discuss any matters with a third party except where the trainer deems that there is a breach of the Welfare of Animals Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 or endangerment of a minor or crime being committed. 

If the client (AS stated in the intake form) does not wish for any photos/videos taken it must be respected by the trainer. 

If the client (as stated in the intake form) agrees to photos/videos being taken during sessions the media remains the property of this way dog training and we retain the right to use them for educational and marketing purposes only. (unless agreed otherwise agreed with the client)
